Plain English. Your pace. Ask me anything.
Tech help for seniors, in your own home
I'm Mani, and I come to homes across the Comox Valley to help with computers, phones, tablets, printers, and Wi-Fi. I'll explain what I'm doing in plain English and keep going until it makes sense. Take all the time you need — and you'll know what it costs before I start.
Sound familiar?
What people usually call me about
- “My computer has gotten so slow.”
- “The printer worked yesterday and now it doesn't.”
- “I got an email saying my account is locked — is it real?”
- “I want to video call my grandkids but I can't figure it out.”
- “My internet doesn't reach the back bedroom.”
These are the most common calls I get. Whatever yours is, I've almost certainly seen it before.
Help comes to you
You don't have to bring anything anywhere
No unplugging cables and trying to remember where they went. No lifting a computer into the car. No driving to a shop during business hours and leaving it for a week.
I come to you, and everything is working again before I leave.
Learn your own device
One-on-one lessons at your kitchen table
Learn your own device, on your own schedule, at whatever pace suits you. Email, photos, video calling, online banking safety, Microsoft Office or Google apps — or the new AI tools everyone's talking about, explained without the hype.
Lesson packages available — ask when you call.
Confidence, not worry
Staying safe online
Scams have gotten very convincing. The answer isn't to be afraid of your computer — it's to know what to look for.
I'll set up your passwords properly, add protection to your email and bank accounts, and leave you a simple one-page guide for the fridge. After that, if anything ever looks suspicious, send it to me and I'll tell you straight away whether it's real.
For families
Looking after a parent from a distance?
A Family Plangives them someone local to call — and gives you a short note every few months about how things are going. It's a lot easier than troubleshooting a printer over the phone from Vancouver.
Common questions
Before you call
- How much will it cost?
- You'll know before anyone drives out. Describe the problem by phone at no charge, and you'll get a firm price before any visit — not an estimate with an hourly meter behind it.
- What if it can't be fixed?
- Then you don't pay for the attempt. And if a repair isn't worth the money, you'll be told honestly rather than sold one.
- Do I have to bring my computer somewhere?
- Never. Help comes to you. That's the whole idea.
- I'm not very good with technology. Is that a problem?
- That describes most of my clients. You don't need to know the right words — describe it however makes sense to you and I'll work it out.
- Will I get the same person each time?
- Yes. You'll have your own tech who knows your setup before arriving — not whoever's free that day.
- Can you answer a quick question over the phone?
- Sometimes a quick question has a quick answer — call and ask. If it needs hands on the keyboard, I'll come out.
- Do you work with businesses too?
- Yes — websites, networks, Google listings, staff training, and monthly support plans.
- How soon can you come?
- Usually within a few days, often sooner. Care plan members get priority.
