How it works
What a visit looks like
Call or text
Describe the problem in your own words and book a time. Visits are by appointment, any day of the week.
The cause is found on your own computer
The computer is checked where it sits: what it's doing, what's slowing it down, whether anything unwanted is on it. You're told what the problem is and what fixing it involves. If it's a bigger job, needs a part or isn't worth repairing, you're told plainly before anything goes ahead.
Explained and checked
Everything that was done is explained, and the computer is checked with you before the visit ends. Call if anything acts up again.
Pricing
What it costs
Most home visits fall between $79.99 and $159.99. You'll get an estimate before the visit, and we stop and ask before any extra work.
Questions
Quick answers
Why is my computer so slow?
Usually one of a few things: too many programs starting at once, a nearly full drive, an out-of-date system, or something unwanted running in the background. The first step is finding out which, and that's what the visit is for.
Can a virus or malware be removed?
Usually, yes. The computer is checked, unwanted software is removed, and you're shown how to spot the same trouble next time. A pop-up saying a computer is infected is a common scam, and the difference between a real warning and a fake one is explained.
What if my laptop won't turn on at all?
It gets looked at and the problem is explained plainly. If it needs a part or isn't worth repairing, the options are laid out, including whether replacing it makes more sense.
Can it be fixed without a visit?
Often, for software problems. Remote help by phone and screen share is $44.99 for up to 30 minutes. If it turns out to need hands on the computer, a home visit is the next step.
